MEGA MIND (Genius Hunt Competition) 2011-12 Rules & Regulation


RULES & REGULATIONS GOVERNING PARTICIPATION IN
MEGA MIND (Genius Hunt Contest) Nagaland 2011-12
For High School, Higher Secondary & College students

I.                      CONTEST DESCRIPTION: MEGA MIND (Genius Hunt Contest) is based on Academic knowledge, general knowledge, current affairs & ability test in English language which is organised by Self Reliance Foundation.
II.                    DESCRIPTION ABOUT THE ORGANISATION: It is a voluntary organisation and its main focus areas are:  health, education, livelihood, and environment. The board members are comprised of people from different walk of life like (Teacher, Lecturer, Social worker, Head of student union bodies). This is our fund raising programme to impart free education as well as computer education to the deprived children. Our main beneficiaries are children under difficult circumstances; Adolescents and youth; Women; Tribal and the deprived community.
III.                   HEAD OFFICE: Opp. Diphupar Gate, NH 39, 4th mile, Diphupar, Dimapur,  Nagaland.
IV.                  AIM & OBJECTIVE OF THE CONTEST:
To create interest in studying academic subjects.
To prepare for competitive exams. ( NPSC, UPSC,  NDA, Bank exams...)
To raise fund for free education for poor children’s
V.                   PROCEDURE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CONTEST:
o    Submit the registration form along with registration fee of Rs.200/- (Rupees Two hundred) only on or before the stipulated date to your respective class teachers or in our head office or branch office.
o    Submit three resent passport size photo. (Write your name at the back of the photo).
o    Under any circumstances registration form will not be accepted after the stipulated date.
VI.                  MODES OF EXAMINATION:
Multiple choice questions only (Sample question paper is enclosed).
VII.                 VENUE: Around 13 examination centres will be there from Dimapur town to   Chumukedima including Niuland.
VIII.               DETAIL ABOUT SYLLABUS:       
Class 8 , 9 & 10
(Three categories i.e. class wise)
HSSLC &  DEGREE STUENTS
(Two category)
Academic Subjects  Social Science / Science / Grammar / Maths (cl. 5 – cl.7)          ( 50 marks)
Maths (cl.5 – cl.7) & Grammar            
                                                                                - 30 marks
General Knowledge (Nagaland, North-East, India & World)    
                                                                      (20 marks)

General Knowledge
(Nagaland, North-East, India & World)                                         -40 marks

Current Affairs      (20 marks)
Current Affairs                                       15 marks
Ability Test            (10 marks)

IX.                  SCHOLARSHIP & CERTIFICATES (District level):
Winner – Rs.10000 /- and certificate.
1st runner’s up – Rs.5000/- and certificate.
2nd runner’s up – Rs.2500/- and certificate.
Note: Consolation prizes will be awarded to first 100 highest scorers (Qualifying marks is minimum 40 marks).
X.                   SCHOLARSHIP & CERTIFICATES (State level):
 
Winner – Rs.10000 /- plus certificate plus Educational tour (Bangaluru, Goa & Mumbai)


XI.                  QUALIFYING MARKS:
Winner                            – highest scorer (85% and above.)
1st runner’s up              - 70% and above.
2nd runner’s up               – 60% and above. 
Note: 1. If three contestants score’s above 85% than they are eligible for Winner, 1st runners  
              up   and 2nd runners up.
          2. In case of tie up in scores the respective contestant’s should go for another round     
              of Contest (i.e. rapid fire round). The judges for rapid fire round will be the  
             director  of Self Reliance Foundation educational board,  
                      

XII.                 SCHOLARSHIP , CERTIFICATES & EDUCATIONAL TOUR FOR THE STATE LEVEL WINNER’S
The winner’s of state level Contest will be awarded scholarship of Rs.15000/- plus certificates and can enjoy educational tour to Bangalore, Goa & Mumbai.
XIII.                Date of the Contest: Last week of October . In the month of October most of the students will finish up their syllabus for final examination. Therefore this date line is specified by the organising committee. So that at a time students can prepare for Contest as well as for  final examination.

XIV.              Contest centre: It’ll be mention in the admit card.
XV.                State level Contest: In the state level completion all the winner’s, 1st runners up and 2nd runners  up of district level will compete.
